About Gyl Golden

Based in southern France for two decades, I am an experienced expatriate who has spent most of my time in France. My wanderings around the world have made my writing richer.

With a Master's degree in Architecture and eight years of experience as a professional architect, I realized that office work did not fulfill my passion for personal growth and adventure. I moved to Japan to teach English and subsequently taught in various countries, including Thailand, Malaysia, and Italy. After working as an English teacher trainer in Spain, I opened a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course, The Language House, in Montpellier, France.

Drawing on over two decades of experience in endurance sports, I’ve completed numerous marathons and triathlons, including eight full Ironman distance races. As an Ironman-certified coach and a certified performance coach with the Coaching Academy, I provide endurance sports and mental preparation, leveraging my life coaching background.

My thirst for adventure and dedication to promoting women's endurance sports culminated in celebrating my 50th birthday by cycling the Tour de France route one day before the professionals with a group of French women. My upcoming book details this incredible three-week journey I undertook to advance professional women's cycling.

With my diverse background in international travel, teaching, content creation, entrepreneurship, coaching, and endurance sports, I draw from these experiences when writing for clients. I love researching and interviewing to develop compelling articles and quality content. As a curious soul, I’m always looking to learn new things and discover great stories that must be told.
